Artificial Intelligence Conference: AI welcomes guests and participants

KATHMANDU, June 15: Artificial intelligence took center stage at the National Artificial Intelligence Conference 2081 held in the capital on Saturday.

Organized by Digital Media Foundation, the conference saw AI welcoming guests and participants with a speech and shedding light on the program. Pravesh Subedi, chairman of Digital Media Foundation and a digital media expert, directed the welcome speech via mobile phone prompt. Following this, the AI platform Chat GPT welcomed guests, including the chief guest Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun, with a speech.

The audience, including Minister Pun, enthusiastically applauded this innovative approach. The program then continued with a video prepared using AI, featuring a presenter in formal attire discussing the significance of AI conferences, the opportunities and challenges AI presents globally and in Nepal, the future of media, and the potential for public service enhancement.

The participants expressed their satisfaction with the experimental use of AI.

Dr Bhanubhakta Acharya, a professor of mass communication and journalism and a speaker at the event, highlighted how AI can enhance individual capabilities and increase productivity.

Shiva Gaunle, former president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists and editor of Onlinekhabar.com, acknowledged AI's potential in journalism for fact-checking and content presentation while emphasizing the importance of journalistic caution when utilizing AI technology.
