CIB takes statements from ex-prime ministers Nepal and Bhattarai in connection with Lalita Niwas land-grab scam

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has taken statements from former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and Dr Baburam Bhattarai in connection with the ongoing investigation on Lalita Niwas land-grab scam.

CIB Spokesperson SP Nawa Raj Adhikari said that former prime ministers duo Dr Bhattarai and Nepal were interrogated on Sunday night.

Former PM Dr. Bhattarai in a tweet on Monday morning informed that he provided information to the CIB regarding his involvement in the Lalita Niwas land grab scam. “I have fulfilled my duty by providing accurate information to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) in accordance with my public commitment from the beginning regarding inquiries raised regarding the decisions made by my cabinet in the Lalita Niwas land-grab scam. I hope that this case will serve as a catalyst to eliminate all forms of corruption and irregularities within the nation, thereby ensuring good governance,” he wrote.
