Ex-Gurkha veteran staging hunger strike hospitalized in UK

KATHMANDU, August 18: Former Gurkha veteran, Dhan Gurung – who has been staging a hunger strike along with his fellow Gurkha veteran – has been hospitalized on Tuesday evening.

Gurung, who is also diabetes and blood pressure patient, has been experiencing health complications for the past few days.

A group of former Gurkha veterans has been launching a fast-unto-death protest in front of the Office of British Prime Minister in the United Kingdom for the past few weeks demanding equal pension pay.
