Father and son arrested for murdering daughter in law

ROHTAK, July 23: The person who filed a police report after killing a woman in Parsa Rural Municipality of Sarlahi has been arrested after about a month and a half. Ramjesh Kumar Rai known as Baldatta of Parsa Rural Municipality 1 and his father Ram Pratap Rai have been arrested on the charge of murdering Ramjesh’s 20-year-old wife Nisha Yadav.

Nisha's father-in-law Ram Pratap Rai filed a complaint at the District Police Office Sarlahi on June 7 saying that Nisha Yadav has been missing from her house since June 5. The day before that, on June 6, Nisha's father Kailash Rai Yadav filed a complaint to search for his missing daughter.

The police, who are searching for Nisha Yadav, were interrogating the family members and suspicious persons. When the police investigated Nisha Yadav's husband Ramjesh,  father-in-law Ram Pratap Rai and brother-in-law Raju Yadav, it came to light that she was murdered.

After it was found that Nisha was killed and buried in her own field about four kilometers away from her house, an investigation team including Thaneshwar Gautam, Chief district Officer from District Administration Office Sarlahi, District Police Chief Superintendent of Police Praveen Pokharel reached the field and during the investigation, they found a hole about six feet deep near the side of the paddy field. The remains of Nisha's body have been found, the police said.

District Police Office Sarlahi said the dead body was found with a jute sack, straw, red saree and rotted body in a burnt state. They have completed the preliminary investigation including autopsy according to the law.

DSP Vijay Yadav, Information Officer of District Police Office, Sarlahi informed that further investigation is underway in connection with the incident.
