Khaptad Tourism Development Committee lying dysfunctional

DOTI, Aug 17: The Khaptad Area Tourism Development Committee has been lying idle for the past couple of years.

Section Officer at the Committee, Prem Kunwar shared they were not even receiving regular salary for the past 13 months. He added, five employees have been serving the committee on a contractual basis but without salary for the past 13 months.

The State government is responsible to look after the committee but it is yet to be addressed.

Committee's former chair Purna Raj Joshi complained that the state government was not serious to appoint the executive chair and other members of the committee.

On the other hand, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Far Western State Maya Bhatta shared the process to form the committee was in progress.
