Labor minister directs authorities to ensure expeditious repatriation of bodies of those killed in Kuwait road accident

KATHMANDU, March 15: Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister Dol Prasad Aryal has directed the officials to immediately bring the bodies of three Nepali youths who died in a car collision in Kuwait.

Nepalis working for Papazone Company in Kuwait died in an accident on Seaside Road in the Mahboula area around 5 AM on Tuesday.

The deceased are Sujan Karki of Kathmandu’s Sano Bharyang, Surat Bahadur Kadayat of Panchadewal Binayak-5, Achham and Dhiraj Gurmachan Magar of Dhanusha. According to Giri Prasad Acharya, Labor Counselor of the Nepali Embassy in Kuwait, they are preparing to send their bodies to Nepal after completing the post-mortem and necessary legal procedures.

Sujan Karki and Dhiraj Gurmachan Magar, residing in Hawalli, had visited their friend Surat Kadayat in Mahboula on Monday night. On Tuesday morning, as Kadayat was returning to his room for duty, he went to pick them up for work. Tragically, the collision occurred while they were en route, resulting in their immediate demise.

Labor Minister Aryal has also taken information about the incident. Minister Aryal has inquired about the deceased workers and their families from the Nepali Embassy in Kuwait. Minister Aryal has also instructed the Embassy and the Foreign Employment Board to take necessary steps to bring the body of the deceased to Nepal. The Labor Minister has said that the relief process for the families of the deceased workers will also be carried forward.
