Large number of parliamentarians, govt employees visiting India to study measures addressing monkey menace

KATHMANDU, Feb 2: A large number of parliamentarians and government employees are visiting India in mid-February in the name of studying the measures taken to control and manage monkey menace. The team is scheduled to stay in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India for about a week, according to sources at the Ministry of Forest.

The members of the said team will study the techniques adopted by the local government for monkey control. Achaya Chaudhary of Chitwan National Park, Puran Dev Mishra of Shuklaphanta Kanchanpur, Nirendra Kumar Singh of Langtang National Park, Deepak Kumar Singh of Shivapuri National Park and Khimraj Wali of Bardiya National Park will be part of the team.

Likewise, 10 veterinary doctors under the Ministry of Agriculture will also participate in the team. Sources said Anisha Nepali, Amritlal Rajbanshi, Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, Kusum Dev Thapa, Ganga Prasad Yadav, Dikpal Kumar Shahi and Rupa Sosi Chaudhary are among the lawmakers of Agricultural Cooperative and Natural Resources Committee under the federal parliament visiting India to see the measures of monkey control.

The delegation also includes Bijula Rayamajhi, Niran Bahadur Balayar, Saraswati Subba, Surya Kumar Shrestha, Sonu Murgu, Nawal Kishore Shah, Binita Kathayat, Mina Tamang, Yogendra Mandal and Rupa BK. The committee is going to send a team of MPs and staff to visit India.
