Maoist Center calls Central Committee meeting to pick central office-bearers

KATHMANDU, Feb 9: The CPN (Maoist Center) has called a Central Committee meeting of the party to fix the names of its central office-bearers on February 11 and 12 at the National Academy. As per the party’s statute, there is a provision for 15 office-bearers including one Chairman, one Senior Chairman, six Deputy Chairmen, One General Secretary, two Joint-Secretaries and three Secretaries. 

The meeting has been called for 9PM, according to Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s Secretariat. Although the CPN (Maoist Center) has concluded its 8th National Convention, the names of the office-bearers have not been fixed. 

The first meeting of the Central Committee held after the convention had unanimously elected Dahal as the party’s chairman. The Central Committee has not been able to meet after some of the party’s working members and leaders tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
