KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Tshering’ is a directorial debut of singer and actor Yash Kumar. It was released in cinema halls across the country this Friday. ‘Tshering’ is a comprehensive narration consisting of love, suspense, action, and comedy. The movie shows the hardship of the people living in Upper-Mustang.
The movie starts with a phone call by Tshering informing his mother (Kabita Ale) about his return from the US. Tshering is apathetic to the changes that have taken place in his birthplace since he was taken up for adoption him by an American couple; he was only 15 then.
Upon returning to his village, he finds Jigme (Jimmy Gurung), a notorious goon responsible for killing his protestors, and his brothers as the main obstacles of development. Eventually, while trying to stop the antagonist from their wrong-doings, Tshering too faces a similar fate.
Yash Kumar makes his opening appearance after the interval. He declares to be Tshering and creates confusion along the way.
The music department deserves full marks for producing captivating songs and background scores. The cinematography unquestionably is another strong aspect of the movie. However, the action scene is monotonous. It lacks creativity. The movie is bearable until the fast half but the loose screenplay makes the second half inadequate.
Through the movie, the creators have tried conveying the message that the rural parts of Nepal, including Mustang, are gems of Nepal.
