NC rival faction calls a meeting of CC members to discuss party’s general convention, active membership distribution row

KATHMANDU, August 9: The rival faction leader of Nepali Congress (NC) Ram Chandra Paudel has summoned a central committee (CC) meeting on Monday.

The meeting scheduled to be held at the residence of General Secretary Shashank Koirala at 3 PM today is expected to be attended by CC members close to the rival faction. The meeting will discuss active membership distribution row and the party’s general convention, according to NC leaders.

In recent days, Poudel and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba are at odds over various things including on the issue of the party's active members distribution and the party’s general convention. The rival faction has accused the party’s establishment faction of grossly misusing the party’s active membership distribution and repeatedly deferring the general convention.
