NC ward chief dies on his way to receive Dashain Tika, his wife dies hearing the news

DHANKUTA, Oct 23: A woman of Suguri Gandhi Rural Municipality-10 of Dhankuta died after hearing the news of her husband’s death. The husband was on his way to Dharan to receive Dashain Tika.

Nepali Congress (NC) President of Sagurigadhi Rural Municipality-10, Jhagendra Rai was found dead in the evening of October 20 after being swept away by the Bare River. He had gone missing on October 19 while he was on his way to Dharan from Ahale. Leaders of Nepali Congress Dhankuta paid their tributes to Rai in a forest of Dharan after conducting a post mortem at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.

Rai was elected as the ward president of the Nepali Congress from Sagurigadhi-10 during the ward convention of the 14th general convention of the Nepali Congress last month. According to NC Dhankuta, Anu Rai, the wife of Jhagendra Rai died of heart attack after hearing the news of her husband’s death and both were cremated together.
