One arrested with 5 kg of marijuana

MORANG, Dec 25: The police have arrested one person with 5 kg of marijuana from the airport canal located in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-4.

Arpan Rai, 28, aka Gore, from Biratnagar-11, was arrested with the marijuana while riding a scooter (Ko 38 Pa 7951) on Saturday evening, said Morang police. According to Morang police spokesperson DSP Deepak Shrestha, 5 kg of marijuana was recovered from Rai.

Rai has been arrested while the police have seized the contraband drug and impounded his scooter, and further investigation into the matter is underway. The police said that a case under the Narcotic Drugs (Control) Act will be filed against the arrested Rai.
