Parliamentary Committee seeks birth certificate details of AIG Gyawali

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives has sought the documents related to the date of birth of Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Nepal Police Shyam Lal Gyawali from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA).

According to Suraj Kumar Dura, secretary of the committee, concerns have been raised regarding Gyawali's date of birth. According to the chairman of the committee, Ram Hari Khatiwada, based on the complaint, the committee has requested the documents related to the date of birth of AIG Gyawali from the MoHA.

The complaint alleges that Gyawali manipulated his date of birth in citizenship and educational certificates to secure his position in the police force.
