PM Dahal pushing nation towards instability by obstructing new govt formation: MP Bartaula

KATHMANDU, July 8: Chief Whip of the CPN-UML, Mahesh Bartaula, said that Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal has tried to push the nation towards instability by not letting the formation of a new government.

Speaking in the House of Representatives (HoR) on Monday, MP Bartaula said that the PM is trying to stretch his stay in power even after falling into a minority. He accused PM Dahal of trying to push the nation towards the path of instability by not cooperating in the formation of a new government.

Lawmaker Bartaula said that the UML wanted the current government to continue in the long-run, but PM Dahal played a political game. For this reason, the UML got insecure and withdrew the support given to the Dahal-led government.

“Despite being in the same coalition, PM Dahal tried to weaken the CPN-UML. Due to this, we withdrew our support and formed a new coalition with the Nepali Congress,” he said.

He said that the CPN-UML will always remain honest and determined to fulfill the agreement reached with the NC.

He also said that the government is trying to destroy the constitutional provision, but the new coalition between the UML and the NC can easily form a new government as per the constitutional provisions in Article 76(2).

He also requested the PM to resign and help in paving the way for forming a new government.
