Police arrest leaders, cadres of Bibeksheel Sajha Party

KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Police arrested leaders and cadres of Bibeksheel Sajha Party including Central Committee Member Samikshya Banskota during their protest in front of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) headquarters in the capital, on Wednesday morning.

The police arrested the BSP leaders and cadres when they were staging demonstration urging the anti-graft body to nab the 'big fishes'. The BSP leaders and cadres protested against the menace of the growing corruption in the country.

The protestors demanded the CIAA investigation into major corruption cases including the procurement of wide-body for the Nepal Airlines.

Party Spokesperson Surya Raj Acharya told Republica Online that 30 leaders and cadres were arrested during the peaceful protest and they are currently being kept at Metropolitan Police Circle at Kamalpokhari.
