KATHMANDU, March 21: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has forecast the possibility of rain in various parts of the country today. Currently, Nepal is experiencing the influence of a westerly-low pressure system, coupled with a low-pressure system around Bihar, India. Consequently, regions such as Koshi, Madhesh Province, Bagmati Province, and others may experience rainfall today.
The MFD has alerted about the possibility of rain accompanied by storms in Koshi and Madhes provinces today.
Partly to mostly cloudy skies are anticipated across the country this afternoon.
According to the MFD, there is a possibility of scattered to light rain with thunder/lightning at some places of Koshi province, few places of Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and one or two places of rest of the country.
Similarly, there is a chance of light snowfall in few places of high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki regions. According to the MFD, there is also a possibility of wind and storm in few places of Terai area of Madhesh Province and Koshi Province.
The weather will be partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country and partly cloudy to mostly clear in the rest of the country tonight. Scattered to light rain with thunder/lightning is likely at a few places in the hilly areas of Gandaki province and at one or two places in the rest of the hilly areas of the country.
On Friday afternoon, partly to mostly cloudy conditions are expected nationwide, with scattered to light rain and thunder/lightning possible in a few hilly areas and one or two areas in the plains. Light snowfall is also anticipated in isolated high hilly and mountainous regions.
At night, the weather will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country, including Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, in the rest of the country. Scattered to light rain with thunder/lightning is possible at few places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki regions and one or two places in remaining hilly areas. There is also a possibility of moderate rain in one or two places of Gandaki province.
There is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
