KATHMANDU, Sept 19: At present, the low pressure line of monsoon is located in the southern region, closer to Nepal. At present, there is a partial to normal change in the provinces, including the hilly areas of the Sudurpaschim Province, while there is a partial change in the Terai areas of the Sudurpaschim Province.
Also, light rain is occurring at one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD). Today, there will be partial to normal showers across the country. Meteorologist Govinda Jha informed Republica that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Lumbini provinces and a few places in the remaining provinces.
According to him, there is a possibility of temporary rain in Kathmandu today. There is a possibility of temporary light rain with thunder and lightning in Kathmandu this afternoon, he said.
At present, the air temperature in Kathmandu is 24 degrees Celsius with visibility at eight kilometers, said meteorologist Jha. Today, the maximum temperature in Kathmandu is expected to range between 29 and 31 degrees centigrade, according to the MFD.
Similarly, tonight the weather will be partly cloudy to normal in the hilly areas of the country, and the weather will be generally clear in the rest of the country. It has been mentioned in the bulletin published by the department that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and one or two places in the rest of the country.
