‘Sishnupani Nepal’ awarded with Siddhicharan Puraskar

This year’s Yugkavi Siddhicharan Shrestha award has been provided to the organization ‘Sisnupani Nepal’ for its contribution to the art of comedy through literature in the conversion of Nepali society. On Saturday, April 30, a meeting was called by the Siddhicharan Foundation to make the decision. The meeting was chaired by the chairperson of the foundation, poet Bairagi Kainla has also announced the Siddhicharan Journalism Award for the last three years.

According to the foundation member Dr. Fanindra Niraula, journalist of Okhaldhunga, Gajurdhan Rai, Paras Nepal of Bhojpur and Lahana Media Pvt Ltd established in Kathmandu have also been awarded the Siddhicharan Journalism Award. Likewise, the first daily newspaper 'Awaaj' was published by the private sector under the editorship and publication of Yugakavi Siddhicharan Shrestha.

Every year, the foundation has been giving journalism awards in the name of “Yugkavi” to the worthy ones for their contribution to the field of Nepali Journalism. Furthermore, Nepal's first daily newspaper 'Awaaj' was published by the private sector on February 19, 1951.

Ravi Charan Shrestha, son of the poet Siddhicharan Shrestha said, “Yugakavi Siddhicharan Journalism Award is being given every year. As stated by Ravi Charan Shrestha, the award receiver was chosen by a committee convened by Mohan Lohani where poet Dr. Shailendra Sakar was a member.
