Ward chairman Bade arrested with Rs 1.5 million bribe

KAVRE, Jan 18: Nripesh Bade, the ward chairman of Banepa municipality- 9 of Kavre, has been arrested on the charge of taking bribes. He was arrested by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) team on Wednesday night from Ghatthaghar in Bhaktapur.

Narahari Ghimire, spokesperson of the CIAA, said that Ward Chairman Bade was arrested as he had taken a bribe of Rs 1.5 million from a municipal service seeker.

According to the CIAA, they also seized 10,000 Japanese Yen, 100 US dollars, Hyundai I-10 car and car driver Padam Bahadur Pradhan along with Rs 1.5 million.

Bade was elected ward chairman from Nepali Congress. He is also the former president of Nepal Student Union, Kavre. The car driver Pradhan is from Bahrbise, Sindhupalchowk
