KATHMANDU, July 12: The 1.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines provided by the U.S. government under the COVAX facility have arrived in Nepal today.
According to the U.S. Embassy in Nepal, a total of 1,534,850 doses of the Johnson & Johnson COVID19 vaccine have arrived in Kathmandu. This vaccine requires only one shot to be fully vaccinated, meaning that 1.5 million people will soon be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Nepal. The vaccines have been handed over to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The vaccines were delivered from Brussels by the Johnson & Johnson company of the USA.
“I am proud that the U.S. is the largest single country donor of COVID-19 assistance to Nepal,” U.S. Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry tweeted, adding: “This gift on behalf of the American people, has the singular goal of saving lives.”
