KATHMANDU, July 24: Police have arrested 10 protesters who were staging a sit-in outside the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) in support of Dr Govinda KC on Sunday.
According to Bidushi Dhungel, a campaigner, the law enforcement agency resorted to baton charge and arrested six doctors and four others.
Hundreds of people had gathered outside the CIAA’s building in Tangal of the Capital City in solidarity to Dr KC, a senior orthopedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) who is on a hunger strike since 14 days with various demands.
One of his demands is impeachment of CIAA Chief Commissioner Lokman Singh Karki.
