KATHAMNDU,June 13: Consul General of Republic of Philippines for Nepal Suraj Vaidya organized an event to mark 118th Independence Day of Philippines in Kathmand on Friday.
Vaidya is also the former president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Speaking at the program, Vaidya said that Nepal and the Philippines share mutual relationships. He also said increasing movement of Nepali students to the Philippines for medical education have strengthened bilateral relationship.
Pakistan Independence Day marked
Some of these students have brought Filipino spouse. Around 400 Nepali families have Filipino members, according to Vaidya.
Speaking at the event Teresita C Daza, ambassador of the Philippines for Nepal and India, also stressed on strong bilateral relationship between Nepal and the Philippines.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare CP Mainali also attended the event.
