KATHMANDU, Jan 21: As many as 13 inmates have died in the central jail of Nepal during the current fiscal year.
Acting Superintendant of Dr Bagat Lal Shrestha informed that 13 inmates died due to different diseases including coldness in the jail.

“The prevalence of various communicable and non-communicable diseases such as common cold, cough, fever and typhoid in the jail and ageing are the causes behind the death toll”, he added.
Dr Shrestha further shared that the patients who cannot be treated at prison hospital have been referred to Bir Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Mental Hospital and Gangalal Hospital for further treatment. RSS
