KATHMANDU, July 19: Sixteen Nepali migrant workers, who were in a camp after serving jail term on the charge of working illegally in Malaysia, have been rescued and returned back to Nepal.
A press release issued on Tuesday by Malaysia-based Nepali Embassy said they were sent back to Nepal in two phases on Thursday and today with the support of Foreign Employment Promotion Board.
The Nepali Embassy has so far sent back 612 migrant workers to Nepal free of cost with the support of government and non-government organizations.
According to the Embassy, preparation was underway to send back other Nepalese who are in detention center for various reasons. RSS
