DOLAKHA, June 4: The District Attorney’s Office, Dolakha, has filed case against 40 individuals including CPN (Maoist Center) politburo member and former state minister Devi Khadka, accusing them of involvement in the murder of Kul Bahadur Tamang, a UML worker on May 10, four days before the first phase of the local elections.
Besides Khadka, the accused include CPN (Maoist Center) politburo member Ganga Karki and the party’s district committee chairman Bishal Khadka at the Dolakha District Court on the charge of murdering Tamang of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality.
Former state minister Khadka charge sheeted for murder
The attorney’s office has filed the murder case against 40 individuals claiming their involvement in Tamang’s murder. Among the 40, only nine have been arrested so far.
Tamang was killed and around a dozen were injured after a fierce clash broke out between the cadres of CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN-UML at Jungu of Gaurishankar Village Council, Dolakah on May 10, four day before the first phase of local elections.
Tamang, 33, was killed in the clash that took place at Jungu Dahabari area.
Another UML worker, Dil Bahadur Buthathoki, from Gaurishankar Village Council-2, had sustained serious injuries.
Local leaders of the Maoist Center have been denying involvement of their leaders in the murder.
