51 metric tons waste managed in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU, April 21: Huge amount of waste has been managed with the cleanup campaign conducted in different parts of the Kathmandu Valley today. 


Cleaning the rivers and streets, some 51 metric tons of waste as collected- 12 metric tons alone from Banewshwor Campus area. The Campus area was cleaned as part of the 258th week of Bagmati Clean Up campaign. 


The drive was attended by some 500 people affiliated to the Bagmati Integrated Development Committee, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nyano Sparsha, Muktinath Development Bank, Reukai, said campaigner Narayan Kumar Shrestha.

Similarly, on the occasion of its 21st anniversary, the Royal Cooperatives was involved in the Bagmati cleanup. The Sundarijal area of the Bagmati River was cleaned by more than 100 persons associated with local organizations as Pudasaini Friendship Society, Ramro Jorpati-Hamro Jorpati. Two metric tons waste was removed by them. 


Meanwhile, under the 213th week of Rudramati cleanup drive, two metric tons garbage was collected from the area of Ratopul to Kamalpokhari. More than 200 persons including the security agencies involved in it. 


The Tilaganga area of the Bagmati river also witnessed the cleanup drive collecting a metric ton waste. 


Moreover, on 185th week of Bishnumati cleanup campaign today, the garbage was collected from Manamaiju bridge area was. Nearly, five metric tons of waste was collected, said campaigner Anil Dharel. More than 120 campaigners joined the drive. 


Similar clean up were held at Jadibudi of Bhaktapur, Chakrapath, Syuchatar, and Aloknagar of Kathmandu. RSS
