95% COVID-infected recover in Karnali Province

KARNALI, June 1: The recovery rate of COVID-19 infected people in Karnali Province has increased in recent days. On Monday alone, a total of 512 COVID-19 infected people returned home after complete recovery.

KARNALI, June 1: The recovery rate of COVID-19 infected people in Karnali Province has increased in recent days. On Monday alone, a total of 512 COVID-19 infected people returned home after complete recovery. 


In Karnali, altogether 17,150 individuals tested positive for coronavirus from among 115,433 COVID-19 tests conducted in the last few weeks.

Acting Director of Health Services Directorate of Karnali Province Dr Rabin Khadka said that 95 per cent of the total infected persons returned home after recovery from the COVID-19.  “Of the 1,113 tests in the past 24 hours, 206 people tested positive for coronavirus,” he said. 


Likewise, four individuals succumbed to the virus in the province in the past 24 hours. The deceased are two from Surkhet and one each from Salyan and Jumla.  


According to him, six patients are receiving treatment in ventilator support and 53 others in ICU. Similarly, 370 infected persons are in isolation facilities while 5,171 are in home isolation. 


According to the Directorate, a total of 247 persons died of coronavirus infection in the Karnali Province as of Monday.
