After demolition of illegal structures in Narayanghat area, Hakim Chowk is next

CHITWAN, Dec 25: Even today, the road division office, Bharatpur, has used dozers on illegal structures in the city. The road division office, which has demolished illegal structures in Narayanghat, will demolish the illegal structures from Lions Chowk to Hakim Chowk on Sunday.

CHITWAN, Dec 25: Even today, the road division office, Bharatpur, has used dozers on illegal structures in the city. The road division office, which has demolished illegal structures in Narayanghat, will demolish the illegal structures from Lions Chowk to Hakim Chowk on Sunday.


Sagar Karki, engineer of the road division office, said that houses falling under the road jurisdiction will be demolished. Currently, work is being done to expand the Pulchowk-Gondrang road section under the East-West Highway to six lanes. It is believed that traffic operation and market management will be easier after the expansion of this road section within Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

According to the Public Roads Act 2031, as much as 25 meters from the center of highway to the right and left is considered as the road jurisdiction. The road division office has been saying that the houses have been demolished within the road jurisdiction as per the Act. The road division office said that more than 158 houses within the road area will be immediately demolished. According to the office, the pillars of 58 houses and roofs of more than 100 have fallen under the road jurisdiction.
