RUPANDEHI, March 12: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress, Ramchandra Poudel, has commented that the agreement government made recently with CK Raut was an immature move.

At a press meet organized by Nepal Press Union Rupandehi Chapter here on Tuesday, leader Poudel said although it was positive to bring the secessionist group into a consensus, it has created huge doubt. "One point of the agreement is described as the provision for referendum, which is against national sovereignty and integrity. It is unacceptable," he argued.

The senior leader viewed that CK Raut has been stating that government was ready for referendum, which is deplorable.

Agreement to invite Crisis: Chairman Thapa

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Kamal Thapa, has also argued that the agreement between government and CK Raut would invite crisis in the country.

Addressing a press meet at Butwal, Chairman Thapa, who has come here as part of the Mechi-Mahakali national awareness campaign, accused the government of promoting secessionist forces rather than becoming serious on maintaining peace and security in the country.

Chairman Thapa made it clear that his party was launching the awareness campaign, demanding restoration of Hindu state and the democracy that accommodates monarchy.

The campaign began from Taplegung on February 27.
