KATHMANDU, Feb 9 : Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, held a meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Saturday afternoon.
Oli expressed concern over Dahal's recent remarks against the Oli-led government, sources close to the prime minister told Republica Online.
On Friday, during a book launching ceremony, Dahal had cautioned that the government's failure to fully implement the constitution and the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) could invite fresh round conflict, much graver than the 10-year insurgency.
Dahal also warned that if anyone thought that the Maoists had been dissolved, it would be "unfortunate" and another Maoist group would raise arms.

The co-chairperson's remark came at a time when there is an increasing rift between two co-chairpersons of Nepal Communist Party over Venezuelan crisis. On Wednesday, Prime Minister Oli had tried to contain the situation calling Dahal's remarks a "slip". However, Dahal had retorted and said he stood by the press statement the very next day.
Stating that the constitution and federalism were brought through a national consensus to delegate rights to the local levels, Dahal questioned if it was being implemented accordingly. "Or are we working to weaken the very structures that we fought to build?"
As Dahal elaborated the country's peace process, he urged all to make sure that the country would not revert to the same political and social systems that forced Nepal into a decade of insurgency. He cautioned that there were factions that had started to rethink on how the political events were unfolding.
"We fought against corruption, feudalism and centralized system. However, the same values seem to be returning," Dahal said and cautioned that if it was to be the case, another insurgency -- with much graver consequences-- would ensue in Nepal.
"If that is to happen, bringing peace will be more difficult than in the past."
In turn, Dahal urged the government to implement the constitution and the peace accord sincerely as it would help to usher Nepal into development and prosperity.
Meanwhile, Nepal Communist Party Standing Committee Members Bhim Rawal has urged the heavywights to settle the ongoing dispute at the earliest saying that it will cause a heavy loss not only to the party but also to the entire communist movement if the party splits, referring to the past events.
“It would be wise to settle the dispute surfaced between Chairmen duo KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa kamal Dahal over the Venezuela’s political crisis, referring to the splits occurred among the communist parties in Nepal in the past,” NCP leader Bhim Rawal tweeted.
