APF stars with win in Kusma

KATHMANDU, March 8: Armed Police Force (APF) eased past Nepal Police Club in the First Radio Didi Bahini Cup National Level Women's Volleyball Tournament that kicked off in Kusma, Parbat on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, March 8: Armed Police Force (APF) eased past Nepal Police Club in the First Radio Didi Bahini Cup National Level Women's Volleyball Tournament that kicked off in Kusma, Parbat on Wednesday.



APF registered a straight set win of 25-14, 25-16, 25-17 over Police in the group stage.



Meanwhile, the second match between New Diamond and Western Region was called off in the middle of the third set due to unfavorable weather condition caused by rain and wind.



New Diamond had won the first two sets 25-3, 25-15 and was leading the third set 19-14.



The match will be started from the beginning as per the FIVB rules.



The event being held under the Seventh Western Region Festival features six teams - APF, Police and host Radio Didi Bahini in Group A and Tribhuvan Army Club, New Diamond Academy and Western Region in Group B.



The winner and runner-up will get Rs 60,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively.
