Australian citizen running for a cause in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: An Australian citizen Tim Blair is set to run the 220 km long race from Pokhara to Kathmandu from September 14 to 17. Blair will run for the four days under the banner of 'Run for Nepal' charity and the route of the ultra race will be Pokhara-Dumre-Malekhu-Kathmandu.

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: An Australian citizen Tim Blair is set to run the 220 km long race from Pokhara to Kathmandu from September 14 to 17. Blair will run for the four days under the banner of 'Run for Nepal' charity and the route of the ultra race will be Pokhara-Dumre-Malekhu-Kathmandu.



Blair will be accompanied by two Nepali ultra runners Raj Pradhan and Narayan Acharya in the race.  



Organizing a press meet in Kathmandu on Sunday, Climb High Himalaya, a local partner for Blair's ultra run informed that that one of the main motives of the race was to impart message that Nepal was safe to visit after 2015 earthquakes. 



Besides this, the other purposes of the race is to collect funds for the treatment of cancer affected children in Australia and sponsor for needy students of Himalayan Primary School of Namche, Solukhumbu. 



“Blair will also collect funds in Australia through Tim Blair Run for Kids Foundation Inc (Australia). The funds will be used for treatment of cancer affected kids in Australia. Besides this, the Foundation will also support for studies of needy children in Namche and convey the message that Nepal is safe to visit," Climb High Himalaya's Satyawan Lopchan said. 



“I want to convey the message to the world, especially Australia that Nepal is safe to visit after last year's earthquakes,” said Blair. 



The trio will start their race from Basundhara park of Pokhara on September 14 and end at Kastamandap of Kathmandu on September 17.
