BAITADI, Nov 21: The identities of four people, who were killed in a jeep accident in Baitadi, have been established.
According to police, those killed in the accident have been identified as Police Assistant Head Constable Arjun Kathayat working at Police Training Academy in Dipayal and police constables duo Lok Bahadur Batha Magar and Birkha Bahadur Bista working at the same police station.

Chief District Officer of Baitadai, Suresh Panthi said that Ramesh Saud, a police constable working at the District Police Office, Baitadi, also died in the accident. Except for the jeep driver, all those onboard the ill-fated jeep were Nepal Police personnel.
Chief of Area Police Office, Patan, Kamal Prasad Chaudhary, said that three people died on the spot while one died on the way to the hospital for treatment. Similarly, nine people were injured in the accident. The condition of at least three of the injured is said to be critical, according to police.
Chief District Officer Panthi said that five of the injured were taken to Kohalpur for treatment by a Nepal Army helicopter. Police Constables Ganesh Khadka, Putali Khadka, Aasha Dhami and Bhanu Bista and jeep driver Dev Ram Mahar have been sent to Nepalgunj by a helicopter for treatment.
On Monday morning in Patan Municipality-4 Thum, while returning from polling booths to the headquarters, the police jeep (Se 1 Ja 854) met with an accident. Constable Bhanu Bista, Constable Naresh Katharia, Constable Tikendra Singh Airi, Assistant Constable Gopal Bahadur Pal, Constable Chandra Singh Thagunna were injured. They are being treated at Patan Primary Health Center.
