KATHMANDU, August 1: Bakar-Eid, the second biggest festival of the Muslim community, is being observed today. The festival is observed on the 70th day of Eid-ul-fitr or Ramadan.
On this day, Muslims visit the nearest mosques after a morning bath and attend a mass prayer to recite the Namaj. After completing the reading of the Namaj, they exchange greetings by hugging each other.

However, Muslims have been urged this year to celebrate the festival with caution in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Muslim Commission issued a statement on Friday, urging all to celebrate the festival at home.
