HETAUDA, Nov 23: Nepal Leadership Academy and Women Skill Creation Center, Makwanpur have jointly announced 10 best women entrepreneurs from several earthquake-affected places of Makwanpur.
The best women entrepreneurs have been selected from seven former Village Development Committees -- Chitlang, Phakhel, Markhu, Kulekhali, Sisneri, Namtar and Kalitar.
The best women entrepreneurs were selected by holding a competition with the assistance of Oxfam. A total of 68 women entrepreneurs involved in agriculture, animal farming, beauty parlor and tailoring businesses participated in the competition.
Best women entrepreneurs in Palpa to be awarded
According to the organizers, 40 best entrepreneurs were selected from the first round. The list was then trimmed to 20 in the second phase. A three-member jury selected the best 10 entrepreneurs in the third round.
The best women entrepreneurs received certificate of appreciation as well as cash prize. They will also receive leadership development training and related technical training. Likewise, they will also get opportunity to participate in business counseling session, according to Sanju Poudel of Daayitwa Rural Enterprise Acceleration Project (REAP).
Speaking at the program, Jaman Singh Waiba, chairperson of Indrasarovar Rural Municipality congratulated the organizers for motivating women entrepreneurs at a time when youths are heading to overseas job destinations in droves. “I congratulate all the participating women entrepreneurs and wish for your success in the coming days,” he added.
Nepal Leadership Academy has been supporting Daayitwa to improve the livelihood of youths and women by enhancing their leadership quality.
