DOLPA, May 14: Cadres of Biplav led rebel party attacked police personnel escorting to free Sagar Shahi, member of Nepal Communist Party early morning today. Shahi, 36, a resident of Mungke Chula rural municipality-9 was arrested from Tripura Sundari municipality’s bazaar by police on charges of imposing a general strike yesterday.

Shahi was being taken to District Police Office at Dunai from Tripurakot police post when the 10 cadres of the party led by Ajit Bista, district in-charge, hurled stones at the two escorting constables to abscond Shahi. “The cadres had attacked constables with stones and fled the scene with Shahi,” according to Hari Prasad Sharma, DSP and chief of District Police Office, Dolpa said adding that the constables sustained minor in the attack.
Sharma shared that huge police force had been deployed to arrest the culprits.
