KATHMANDU, Nov 17: Thailand’s Porntip Buranaprasertsuk and Korea’s Ga Eun Park have reached a step closer to the title as they advanced into the final of the women’s singles of the ongoing Yonex-Sunrise Nepal International Challenge- 2019 in Tripureshwar on Saturday.
At the Covered Hall of the National Sports Council (NSC), Buranaprasertsuk defeated Japan’s Rijo Gunji on straighr sets of 21-17, 21-15 to reach the final, while Park saw off Japan’s Akari Nakashizu on straight sets of 21-18, 21-19.
In men’s singles, Vietnam’s Cao Cuong Pham beat India’s Siril Verma on straight sets of 21-11, 21-16 to reach the final. Pham is the sixth ranked player, while Verma is a place below him.

Pham will now take on eighth-placed Thailand’s Adulrach Namkil, who overcame Candada’s Xiaodong Sheng on straight sets of 21-14, 21-19.
Likewise, Australia’s Setyana Mapasa and Gronya Somerville and India’s Maneesha K and Rutaparna Panda will vie for the women’s doubles titles after their respective last four wins.
The top ranked Australian pair got past Thailand’s Ruethaichanok Laisuan and Supamart Mingchua after losing the first set as they won 18-21, 21-16, 21-13 to reach the final. Likewise, fourth-ranked Maneesha and Rutaparna saw off Thailand’s Chasinee Korepap and Kwanchanok Sudjaiparapat 17-21, 23-21, 21-17.
Similarly, it will an all Indian final in the men’s doubles as the first semifinal saw India’s Attri Manu and Reddy B Sumeth defeat Korea’s Kim DukYoung and Kim Sa Rang 18-21, 21-19, 21-19, while the other Indian pair of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila beat Korea’s Na Sung Seung and Wang Chan on straight sets of 21-16, 21-16.
In mixed doubles, Thailand’s Supak Jomkoh and Supissara Paewsampran advanced into the final beating the Korean pair of Seung and Kim Win Ji on straight sets of 25-23, 21-10. They will face Japan’s Kim Sa Rang and Kim Ha Na, who defeated the India pair of Sumeeth and Kuhoo Garg 15-21, 22-20, 21-17.
The final will be played on Sunday.
