Cabinet decides to ban Biplav activities

KATHMAND, March 12:  The government has decided to put a ban on all the activities carried out by Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand.

KATHMAND, March 12:  The government has decided to put a ban on all the activities carried out by Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav'.


A cabinet meeting on Tuesday took a decision to this effect saying that partially underground party is engaged in violent activities.

“The meeting came up with the decision concluding that the Biplav group is engaged in criminal activities, detonating bombs targeting infrastructures and disrupting peace and security,” said a cabinet source said.


In the cabinet meeting, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa informed that the initiation taken by the team led by Som Prasad Pandey to bring Biplav group into negotiation had failed.


The cabinet decided to come hard on Biplav activities following explosions that took place at Ncell towers and Basundhara.
