‘Aakashaiko Naulakhe Taara’, directed by Nepali award-winning filmmaker Tsering Rhitar Sherpa, features renowned Nepali actor Reecha Sharma and theater actor Tika Bhakta Jirel. Set to music and lyrics by Ankit and arranged by Rikesh Gurung, the video not only presents the negative consequences of labor migration, but beautifully depicts the strength, skill and creativity of men and women working in the thriving Nepali carpet industry.
“Label STEP and Jan Kath call on Nepali industries and governments to increase efforts in presenting a more sustainable future for the country’s economy while providing attractive prospects for Nepali workers” said Reto Aschwanden, Managing Director of Label STEP. “We hope our campaign will also encourage Nepali workers to build their careers and lives at home rather than choosing to work abroad,” he further added.
Produced by Mila Productions, the music video will be aired on social media and Nepal Television soon.
