KATHMANDU, April 10: On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of US-Nepal bilateral relations, the Embassy of the United States in Nepal, organized a “cultural mela” at Staff College, Jawalakhel, on Saturday.
The event featured live graffiti art, musical performances, break dance, skate board stunts and slam poetry.

Musical performances by Kanta Dab Dab, Nirnaya D a’ NSK, Mental radio, and Fragments soothed the audience, while the live graffiti art by Gabriel Specter added extra flare to the welcoming environment of the event.
The art exhibited by the Art Lab reflected Nepali culture and tradition, where as slam poetry of “Word Warrior” touched the audiences’ heart.
Both Nepali and American artists were involved in various cultural performances.
Skate board stunts performed by Skate Nepal Skate reflected the popularity of this adventure sport among the youths.
“The art done by the American graffiti artist in collaboration of Nepali artists reflects the strength of friendship between the US and Nepal,” said Tristram Perry, public affairs officer at the embassy.
The event also featured booths staffed by youth and social organizations which provided information on democracy, elections, youth activism and entrepreneurship.
