Priest Chakradharanand Rajopadhyay said that the landslip to the western side of the temple has reached up to the Chandrasurya shrine, one of the nine such shrines located to the west of the temple. He complained that nobody has paid attention to protect the temple even when it is in dire straits.

Locals said that the rampant quarrying of sands from rivers has also put the temple at high risk and added that the landslip has started occurring there for the past six years.

They blamed that District Development Committee, Bhaktapur, Department of Archeology and District Administration Office for not taking any measures to control the landslip. RSS
