RAMPUR, Dec 24: Service seekers have been facing problems after Area Administration Office, Rampur, stopped providing citizenship certificate in absence of its chief.

Distribution of citizenship certificate has been stopped after office chief Kiran Chandra Subedi was transferred on November 1.

More than 90 forms for the citizenship certificate have been collected in the office and service seekers have been compelled to return home empty hand.

Acting office chief Binod Bista said that although the office has been collecting forms, it has not been able to distribute citizenship certificate in absence of office chief.

The Area Administration Office, Rampur, has got responsibility to distribute citizenship certificate to residents of seven VDCs along with Rampur Municipality. People of remote areas—Bakamlang, Galdha, Jhirubas and Mityal have been mostly hit hard.

Chief District Officer, Baburam Gautam, said that he has also received the complaint about the problems that people have been facing for acquiring citizenship certificate. He said that the Home Ministry has been informed about the problem. RSS
