Comet Johnson to be seen nearest on June 5

KATHMANDU, June 2:  Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) on Friday held a talk program on Comet Johnson at Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) in Khumaltar, Lalitpur.

KATHMANDU, June 2:  Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) on Friday held a talk program on Comet Johnson at Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) in Khumaltar, Lalitpur.


Engineer and Former President at Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) Rish Shah presented a paper on Solar Comet Johnson while NASO Chairman Suresh Bhattarai briefed the participants on 'Comet, Observation and Science’. The presentation was subsequently followed by questions/answers session.


During the presentation, Shah said that the Comet C is gradually approaching the earth and will be seen nearest on June 5.

Comet C/ 2015 V 2 was discovered for the first time in November, 2015 under Catelina Sky Survey.


People from different walks of life including teachers, students, engineers, researchers, academicians, journalists took part in the event.  


The talks program was held from 1 pm to 2:30 pm.
