KATHMANDU, July 14: The parliament meeting, which was scheduled to endorse the three remaining bills on budget Wednesday, could not take place after differences emerged between parties in the changed context of registration of no-confidence motion against Prime Minister KP Oli.
The meeting was initially scheduled for 11 am for endorsing the Financial Bill, Bill on Raising Public Debt and Debt and Guarantee Bill. The meeting was first postponed for 3 pm and ultimately rescheduled for Friday. There is confusion within CPN (Maoist Center) leaders and lawmakers on whether to pass the bills or not in the changed scenario.
“We have some minor doubts that the CPN-UML could misinterpret the votes we cast for endorsing the bills and create a scene. Otherwise, we are in a mood to pass the bills,” said CPN (Maoist Center) lawmaker Ram Narayan Bidari.
