He also claimed that due to his party's initiation, federal democratic republican constitution was promulgated through the Constituent Assembly.

“I have played a great role for national unity, for making the people realize the ownership of constitution, and holding local level elections of provincial and federal parliament,” said Dahal.

It would be wise to sort out constitutional differences before the second phase of local elections, said Dahal.

Answering the question put up by Oli regarding his sudden resignation, Dahal said he tendered his resignation in accordance with the deal reached with the NC, not due to pressure from Deuba.

Dahal said that the tearing up ballot papers in Bharatpur Metropolitan City was wrong and unfortunate. However, he said it would undemocratic to intervene in the task being  carried out by Election Commission on the incidedent related to tearing up ballot papers as it is independent  constituional body. "The report has been submitted. We should allow it to work independently."
