The construction of the project is estimated to cost Rs 360 million.

In the initial phase, the project will cover 13 water resources including the Bheri River. The project DPR will be completed by mid-September, Laxman Achayra of Plus Engineering Consultancy said.

The current supply of drinking water in Khalanga is not enough to meet the demand. Presently, 12 small water projects are in operation in Khalanga.

But 50 per cent of the supplied water goes waste due to leakage through the damaged water pipes, District Drinking Water and Sanitation Sub-Division Office Chief Maheshi Mahato said. RSS
