609 more patients discharged in the last 24 hours


KATHMANDU, July 21: As many as 150 more patients have tested positive for novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours. With this, the total number of COVID-19 infections across the country has reached 17,994 including 5,477 active cases.

A total of 323,835 real time PCR tests have been carried out so far including 3,963 in the last 24 hours.


According to Dr Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), a total of 609 COVID-19 patients were discharged after recovery in the last one day taking the recovery tally to 12,477. This accounts for 69.34 per cent of the total infections.


21,704 COVID-19 patients are currently quarantined across the country.


Nepal has so far reported 40 cases of fatalities due to COVID-19 infection.
