Death toll in Saptari incident climbs to 3 (Update)

DHARAN, March 6: Two more cadres of United Democratic Madheshi Front succumbed while going under treatment in Dharan based BP Koirala Institute of Health Science (BPKIHS).

DHARAN, March 6: Two more cadres of the United Democratic Madheshi Front (UDMF) succumbed to thier injuries while undergoing treatment at Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS).


The deceased have been identified as Ananda Shah and Pitambar Lal Mandal. After this, the death toll has reached three. The condition of the four among the nine referred to the hospital is said to be critical.

Earlier, UDMF cadre Sanjan Mehta of Maleth VDC- 2 was killed by the bullet fired by the police while trying to control the situation.


The security forces deployed in the venue fired dozen teargas shells and several rounds of fire after the protesters attacked the gathering with petrol-filled bottles targeting the program.
