KATHMANDU, Sept 27: President of Federation of Nepali Journalist (FNJ) Mahendra Bista has expressed serious concern over the demolition of Dhading FM building in Dhading district.
In a program organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Bista also said that the incident was outrageous.
"This action was not against the building but against the FM station because the officials have demolished the tools of FM very badly," said Bista after viewing the video footages of the incident.
"This is very serious crime. The FM station should be provided compensation for that damage."
The Dhading district forest officials had demolished the FM office on Friday claiming that the building was built on illegal property.
A committee led by Min Bahadur Shahi, executive vice-president of World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters, presented its report about the incident and claimed that the incident was outrageous.
Participants at the program also demanded that the government conduct a proper investigation into the incident.
