Didibahini volleyball in Kushma

KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Radio Didibahini of Kushma, Parbat has announced to organize First Didibahini Cup 2073 National Women's Volleyball Tournament in Kushma from March 7 to 11. 



The tournament will be held during the Ninth Western Regional Women's Festival to be organized in Kushma to mark the 107th International Working Women's Day (IWWD) and the seventh anniversary of the radio. The IWWD falls on March 8. 



Organizing a press conference in the capital on Wednesday, Radio Didibahini President Kalpana Chapagain informed that the tournament to be held under league cum knockout format will feature six top teams of the country. New Diamond Academy, Western Region and host's team will compete in the tournament besides three departmental teams - Nepal Police Club, Nepal Army Club and Tribhuvan Army Club. 



The top three teams of the tournament will be rewarded with purse of Rs 100,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively along with shields, medals and certificates. Similarly, the best individual players -- spiker, setter, quicker, blocker and defender - along with the best coach will be handed over Rs 3000 each. The overall best player will be rewarded with Rs 5000. The expected cost of the event is Rs 1.5 million.



According to the organizer, the tournament is supported by National Sports Council, Nepal Volleyball Association, Western Regional Volleyball Association and Parbat District Sports Development Committee.
